A Halifax man has been committed to stand trial in Nova Scotia Supreme Court on three child pornography charges.
Devin John Greene, 25, had a preliminary inquiry Tuesday in Halifax provincial court on charges of accessing, possessing and distributing child pornography over the Internet.
After hearing testimony from two police officers, Judge Barbara Beach ruled there was sufficient evidence for the case to proceed to Supreme Court, where Greene wants to be tried by a judge alone.
Greene, who is represented by Luke Merrimen of Nova Scotia Legal Aid, will appear at the Halifax Law Courts on March 1 to enter pleas and begin the process of setting dates for a trial.
The man was arrested in March 2010 after police got a warrant to search his residence on Churchill Drive. He remains free on conditions.
